An Angel in Disguise!

A few days ago, Carter Phillips visited Integrity Healthcare of Alton. His arms were full of gifts for the facility’s residents. His delightful smile was big, but not nearly as big as his gigantic heart!

Carter turned seven this year and instead of asking for birthday presents, he told his family and friends to buy Christmas presents for the elderly in the nursing home. That is exactly what they did!

Carter and his mother visited Integrity, and he met all the residents and delivered his many gifts.  The dining room was filled with happy people, and right before he left, those happy people loudly thanked Carter.  In a humble, precious little boy way, Carter turned, smiled and waved to everybody!

Ashley Cline, the Administrator of Integrity Healthcare of Alton, said this is one of the kindest acts she has ever seen in her entire life! “All my staff were standing there crying about how sincere this little man was,” she said.  She expressed her desire to see Carter noticed and thanked in every possible way!  “We were extremely lucky to be the recipients of Carter’s generosity, and I hope people learn from this experience because he sure knows how to lead by example,” added Ashley.

At Integrity Healthcare Communities, we believe in everything that is embodied in the word “integrity”.  Integrity is sound moral character. Integrity is decency and sincerity. Integrity is giving with grace.  Carter Phillips has proved that he is part of the Integrity family through his selfless gift.   Carter’s friends and family showered him with love when they answered his birthday request.  Now, Carter has passed on that love through his gifts to our residents.  Giving with grace, and he is only seven years old!  Merry Christmas, Carter!  Thank you for your kindness!
